We are
having a fantastic time here in Moorland Hall, the days are full of exciting
activities such as mountain biking, where we have all had a chance to show our
brilliant skills. But so many sports bring lots of tiredness! We have walked around
Padstow and bought souvenirs, or sat down by water’s edge trying to catch the
passing crabs. The weather is very different here, a bit of everything, but the
sun shone when we went to the beach and we were able to build the biggest and
strongest castle before the tide came in, there we also get to have a walk and
splash water to each other. But the fun and entertainment never finishes as
each night all of us get to do a room inspection, in which we have to make our
room look like the most clean in the building, and make a little entertainment
for the teachers to make them give us a higher mark. The weather here is very
different from the one in Barcelona, but today it looks quite hot and the sky
won’t let a single drop fall out of the clouds, although usually there’s a cold
wind invading the rooms and some icing drops fall out of the clouds. The food
here is very nice and personally I think it’s much better than the normal
school one, although we have toast and cereals for breakfast every day, they
cook a small dish also, and in dinner or lunch there is lots of variation, and
they normally cook for us British plates. Yesterday we got to go to a church in
which some of us had a bit of an emotive time in, but it looked beautiful and transmitted
a mix of joy and peace together. All of us also got a chance to feel like a monkey
as we all participated in the Leap of Faith, which consisted in (wearing a helmet)
throwing yourself from a tree (hold onto a rope) and trying to touch or kick a
red ball further away. Another activity in which you had to work as a team was
the crate building in which you had to choose a pair and together try to be the
ones on top of more boxes without falling, in this moment the record has been
done by Jimena and Drishti with a total of 15 and a half boxes.

Family Day
Family Day was on the 11th of May. It was very exciting. There was karts, archery and a bouncy castle for the little ones. You could paint your hair or your face. Aswell you could buy books or do the raffle. The clases were decorated with the work the children had made. In the primary building, you could make cakes.I had a very good time. This year, you could stay to eat. If you stayed to eat, you´d eat a barbacue. If not you could eat sandwitches or
icecreams.

Carol Margarit (Year 7)

Book Week at Year 6
All Year 6 were soo excited about book week. The result of this week was amazing for all. Year 6 were looking at Asia. They studied the countries (China, Japan, Philipins, Rusia ...) and then brought in thing they had bought or had from Asia. We had booklets with a treasure box and we had to write who had brought it, what he had brought and something about it. A type of
memory game.
Then we had a quiz in the library. For example: number 10 said that in page 95 in the witches, How many chocolate bars did the Grand High Witch offer Bruno?
At the end of the week we all wrote a story based ona a Asian book. We all had great fun writing it. The ideas were all creative. All year 6 give a great thankyou to the teachers.
The good thing is that everyone worked hard having loads of fun. Not only that, they learned soo much.
We also loved how the book fair was. Books were all around us this week!!! All our work will be displayed on Family Day (11th of May).
" We have had great fun" said a pupil" We all want all weeks to be like book week. Including the book fair!!!"
We hope you all like books because we all think they are a marvelous invention. Not only Year 6 but all OAK HOUSE had a great time!!!!

Book week in year five
Last week we celebrated book week. We had a passport about reading around the word. Every journey on it was marked with a circle and was 500 miles and to colour the circle you needed to read for ten minutes. We also had a book fair to buy books.
As well as that we wrote a story about the grandfather of Steph who once lived in South America. She found strange objects that belonged to him and brought them in to show us.

Y4 Trip to Nutrexpa
Last week we went to Nutrexpa. Nutrexpa is a factory where they make Colacao, ceriols and biscits.
First we needed to put some horibol hats on to stop our hair getting into the colacao. They showed us around the factory and we saw some machines putting the Colacao into bottles.
We had a snack and they gave us a bag of yummy things to take home!!
